{Front Door} Painted Black DIY

 I absolutely love a
touch of black in every room!
When I saw Rhoda's post at Southern Hospitality
where she highlighted several pictures of
interior doors painted black...
I knew I was ready to just
go with it!

Here's a pic of the doors before. They aren't in bad shape. The house is now 7 years old. So I guess it must be that "7 year itch" thing that is
causing me to want to change a few things up!!
I used my trusty new paint brush from Purdy.
This was another fabulous freebie from the Haven Conference!
It has a nice angled edge and did a great job.
A friend of mine recommended Behr's Paint and Primer in One, and
since I've been spoiled with no priming, I went with it!

I lightly sanded the door, wiped it down and began painting!
I applied 2 coats and went back to touch up some of the brush strokes
(as you can see here on the left side of the door,
 some needed a little smoothing)
 Voila!!!
I am loving the look!!

Next is the exterior of these front doors. So excited about that change too!
Stay tuned for part 2...

  1. It looks lovely before and after! The very first thing I did when we moved into our house was paint the front door black! It looks great and is classic! Can't wait to see the exterior!

  4. The door looks fabulous! I am thinking that this could be a great solution for my garage door that always is in need of a scrubbing. :)

  5. The inside of my front doors are black, trying to decide if I should also do the outside... I am definitely doing more doors inside after I painted the bathroom doors black. Love it!
