About

I'm a small town girl, growing up in north Texas, who now resides in the beautiful Hill Country.  I'm a wife to my husband of 22 years and a mother to two beautiful teenagers, a daughter who is 16 and a son 15....(they are 14 months apart!...and yes...I was crazy busy!! when they were babies)
these are my babies...when they were 4 & 3
Before having children, I taught Kindergarten for a total of 11 years...and LOVED it!  I've been a homemaker for the past 17 years.  While at home, I have enjoyed many volunteer jobs....from hospitality positions, to leading Bible studies, to teaching music composers at my kid's school.

I dabble in a lot of different crafts/hobbies/interests.  I do love to create, but I'm not the perfectionist type.  Give me a project where things don't have to be perfect, and I'm on it!  I speak Mod Podge...and Pinterest has been quite the inspiration for me...as well as my newest addiction!!!

Painting is fun for me!
I enjoy the instant gratification and transformation
a can of paint can provide. Whether it's crackling, distressing, antiquing, glazing, or my new favorite using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, I enjoy the process of change.

I enjoy food!!  I grew up with a Mom who cooked great food, and receiving a cookbook for Christmas was a treasured gift to me!  I've taken cooking classes over the years and am a Food Network fan.

I'm always looking for something new and delicious to feed my family.  Fortunately, they are not picky eaters...except for mushrooms...not sure why I can't get the kids to like those.  I keep sneakin' them in, and they just keep pickin' 'em out.  I'll keep trying though!

Decorating a room gets my heart pumping!  I love the challenge!  My style is probably eclectic.  I like traditional with lots of interesting pieces thrown in.  Antiquing is like treasure hunting for me.  I truly enjoy looking for something unique with a story....I have pieces all over my house that I've gathered over the years. It doesn't cost alot of money to have a fun or nicely decorated space.  I love a good bargain!

The four houses we have lived in, have all become "projects."  Some we have slightly remodeled, others totally redone.  So I've painted, faux finished, crackled, made drapes and shades, made bedding, pillows, etc. etc.

The home we're in currently, was a labor of love.  My husband and I worked on plans and custom built a beautiful French Country cottage style home.  We have lived here for 6 years now,... and I still have drapes to make..Ha!

After moving in, I developed some health issues, so many projects were put on hold.  As I'm feeling better, this blog was born as motivation to keep the creative juices going!

Would love for you to join me on this journey....let's make beautiful things together!!

Love,
