{DIY Painting} Inspiration Projects

The new year is here!
Maybe you're still packing up all those Christmas decorations like I am. Are you thinking of changing up your decor a bit?

Painting is a great way to make a change!
I can't say that I enjoy painting, but I do enjoy the instant gratification of CHANGE that it brings
to a piece of furniture or to a project.

I'm pulling some old favorites from the archives to inspire you.
The first project I want to share, if you haven't seen it before
is the embossed builtin buffet cabinet.

You can find the easy and complete tutorial by clicking here.
This was the 3rd post that I did here at All Things Beautiful.

I get lots of questions about how the spackle embossing holds up,
and I can say after 2+ years, there is NO chipping whatsoever.
This second painting project I want to share, is the first time I used Annie Sloan chalkpaint on a piece of furniture.

The armoire is a reproduction, and the wood finish didn't look so great against my chocolate walls, so I painted it!

I will be taking more pics soon when I reveal the Master Bedroom.
It's my favorite project to date and the pictures just don't do it justice.

You can find the full and complete tutorial here. This post is also the most viewed of all of my projects.
And lastly, I'd like to share my stenciled vinyl shades project.
My teenage son's room needed a makeover, so I began with his window treatments.

I love houndstooth, so when I saw this stencil I knew I wanted to use it in his room. You can find the complete instructions here.
The Teenage Room reveal you can see by clicking here.

I hope you are inspired and try out some of my painting projects.
xoxo,

  2. Your bathroom vanities are one of the Pinterest pictures I actually seek out to stare at. I can't believe how it speaks to me. I'm going right now to the post because I can't remember what paint you said you used. :)
    You do a great job!
