{Banners and Buntings} Inspiration

Are you a fan of banners and buntings?
You probably know what a banner is, but do you know what a bunting is?
Technically, it's a "loosely woven fabric used for flags, etc."

Here's a lovely bunting with bright colorful fabrics.
What a great way to use up scrap fabric!
How adorable for a shower, or themed party.

Or you can use some colorful fabric strips!
Some banners spell out a message, while others are blank
to just provide color and whimsy.

Doilies, burlap and polka dots are so much fun, and no words needed!

Love this whimsical piano vignette.

Basically, a banner can be made from any number of materials.

Many buntings are used for seasonal and holiday decor.

Pictures make a cute banner as well. I made a quick and easy one for my daughter's Birthday Party, using jute, clothespins, and cute pictures of her when she was young. The pictures of it wasn't so good, but the idea was good. You can read more about her party here and here.
Her friends had fun looking at them, and teasing her!

Look how festive a banner can be for a party, wedding, birthday,
 or any celebration or get-together.

And who knew buntings could be so much fun, right?
I think this is hilarious and would be quite fun
for a certain party, like a bachelorette, or lingerie shower.

Here's one that is made from old torn linens. Gorgeous!

Banners come in all kinds of shapes as well.
Traditional triangle/pendant type,

Square or rectangular shapes,

 Circular shapes and even pompoms.
My first banner/bunting was for my Spring mantle, where I used sheet music and printed burlap.

I also hung up a banner to celebrate the "Season of Love"
and you can see that post here.

It's time to start decorating for Fall, and I made a new banner,
and here's a sneak peak below.
