Fall Decor {Autumn Bunting}

Who's ready for a little change of season?

It's been a dry hot summer here in South Texas,
so when September hits, and football begins,
you know hope it's about to get a tad cooler.

Decorating for the seasons is such fun.
I enjoy changing things up, so it makes for a good excuse.

The mantle is a focal point in most living areas,
which makes it a perfect place to showcase some seasonal decor.
Back to the bunting! (and there's a pic of my cute little partner in crime)
I used card stock, kraft paper, dictionary pages, and linen ribbon to make the banner. After crumpling the kraft paper for texture, I taped it to the cardstock. I used the Ornamentals font for the lettering and ran the dictionary pages through one page at a time.
I thought it was fun to use one of the "m" pages for the M, etc.
and by accident, this page has the word "mantle" on it.
I left the torn edge on the page, then used my Bondo scraper that I got from the Haven conference as a guide to tear the other 3 sides of the page.
(It has many uses, besides smoothing out filler, spackle, etc.)
The double-sided tape worked to attach the dictionary pages to the kraft paper, punched the holes, and threaded the linen ribbon through.

I'm a fan of banners and buntings.

This mantle design I will leave up until I replace it with Christmas decorations. So it will remain through Thanksgiving.

I enjoy decorating for Fall.
You can find some of my other Fall decor ideas and one recipe below:

I will post my entire mantle in a few days along with a little surprise I've been working on, so come back and take a look!
OK, I'll just go ahead a tell you.

  5. Did you print the letters on the dictionary pages using your printer?

    1. Yes Denise I did. I taped the pages onto white computer paper with regular clear tape, then ran it through the printer. Running some test sheets to get the placement right helped too!
